Milam County Judge Steve Young had the unfortunate task of reporting a second COVID-19 related death in as many days Thursday night.

"I regret to advise of our 59th death in Milam County. This is the second day in a row that we report a COVID-19 related death of a Milam County resident. This person was not vaccinated and was infected with the Delta variant," he wrote in the Thursday night email.

There were 12 new PCR cases reported and 12 new discharged PCR cases; and 33 new probable cases and 26 new discharged probable cases in the county. One person was hospitalized and two were discharged and there are nine individuals on a ventilator.

  • 211 confirmed active COVID-19 cases in Milam County
  • 289 total hospitalized
  • 21 currently hospitalized (minus 1)
  • 59 fatalities (plus 1)
  • All residents hospitalized are unvaccinated.
  • Nine individual(s) hospitalized is in serious condition (vents)
