The infections set an all-time high Tuesday at 171. This is four more than the prior record of 167 set in late December 202o.
“Clearly, we have a lot of the COVID-19 virus in Milam County,” County Judge Steve Young said in his daily email.
The Rockdale Walmart will begin receiving and administering the vaccine Friday. One may register online for an appointment. Consent forms may be completed on line as well.
“This will be a huge addition to getting everyone vaccinated,” Young said.
Tuesday the state announced that the occupancy rate for a business may increase from 50% to 75%.
In addition, bars in Milam County may reopen. This is because the hospitalization rate in our area has been under 15% for 7 consecutive days, per Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order 32.

• Cumulative cases – 1,265, up 40 from 1,225.

• Open cases (PCR) – 0
• Confirmed (antigen) cases – 943, up 65 from 878.
• Hospitalized – 7, down 10 from 17.
• Deaths – 34.
