THANK YOU—Milano resident Billy Barnett asked if I would send out a special “thank you” to the Milano Volunteer Fire Department.

On the early morning of Oct. 26, Mildred Barnett (Billy’s mom and also a Milano resident) was awoken by the sounds of her smoke detectors going off. She looked and saw a fire behind a heater in the living room. Mrs. Barnett was able to get the fire out with a towel.

Had it not been for the Milano VFD installing those detectors in her home a few years ago, the outcome might had not been so good that morning.

Mr. Barnett (and all of Milano residents) appreciate our great fire department and what they do for our community. He also said it is a good reminder to all of us to be sure to change/check the batteries in our smoke detectors this time of year.

EVENTS—Also, if you have any events, adventures, fun recipes or frugal tips you would like to share, send them my way.
