The City of Milano has scheduled its annual Christmas parade and community meal for Saturday, Dec. 14. This year’s parade theme is “The Magic of Santa’s Workshop.”
Line-up will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Milano football field parning lot/ judging will take place at 10 a.m. and the parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m.
Plaques will be awarded in each division and a special cash prize will be awarded to the “best overall” entry.
Divisions for the parade are: floats, bicycles/ walking small animals, vehicles tractors, small motorized/ battery operated (golf carts, four-wheelers, lawn mowers, etc) and horses wagons.
Following the parade, a free community meal will be served at the Milano Civic Center. Winners of the parade will be announced at the meal.
ONE - ACT PLAY — Milano Junior High’s One-Act Play put on its public performance of “Dearly Departed” on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Milano High School cafetorium. The group also held the district competition at the school that same afternoon. I hope to have results for next week column.
MVFD FUND RAISER—The Milano Volunteer Fire Department has begun its yearly fundraiser. Tickets for the annual drawing are now on sale and are $5 each or five for ’53
Prizes include: two Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, two Taurus Public Defender .45 410, Remington 700, Marlin 336W 30-30, Remington 870 Shotgun, Ruger American Bolt Action 22 LR, Taurus 738 TCP 380 and $100 Academy gift card.
