MILANO NEWS

The Milano Ex-Students Association will hold a get-together before, during and after the Eagles homecoming game on Friday in the Milano Elementary cafeteria. This is different than the usual Saturday luncheon that had been held in years past.

The athletic booster club will be holding a meal at this time as well. The athletic booster’s meal will start at 6 p.m. and be served out of the concession stand, but patrons may eat their meals in the elementary cafeteria.

Prices are $10 for full plates or $8 for sandwich meals. The plates include brisket, sausage, potato salad and beans. The sandwich meal includes a brisket or sausage sandwich, chips and a drink.

The Ex-Students Association will also hold a beef stew supper prior to the high school football game on Friday, Nov. 9. Serving will be from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. and cost is $7 for adults and $4 for kids 3-11 years old. The menu will consist of beef stew, cornbread, dessert, tea/coffee. To go plate will be available. Proceeds will also go the group’s scholarship fund.

The Association gave out seven $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in the spring. Donations are always being accepted for the scholarship fund. Please contact Travis Yoakum (512-657-2660), Crystal Denman (512-429-0335), Carolyn Hafley (512-455-2473) or myself (254-718-0133) for more information on that.
