Modified and virtual graduation ceremonies were held last week for Milano ISD students.
Valedictorian for the MHS Class of 2020 was Abbigail Miller and salutatorian was Angela Zeig. Both girls plan on attending the University of Texas at Austin.
Other honor graduates were: Major Bui, Bethanie Compton, Byanna Graf, Christopher Strange, Kaitlyn Telg, Hayden Weaver and Kayla Wall.
Eighth-grade valedictori an was Montgomery Popham and salutatorian was Edison Bui. Other honor graduates were: Bradley Bakken, Skyler Collins and Heather Wall.
FREE MEALS—Milano ISD is offering free summer meals for students 18 years old and younger through June 30. If you would like for your child(ren) to receive a nutritious meal, please contact the MISD cafeteria (512-455-9333) or simply stop by between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to pick up a meal. The address for pickup is 600 N. Sixth St. in Milano.
WORKOUTS—Summer workouts will begin for Milano High School athletes, including those entering high school, on June 9. Weight room will be open each weekday from 2 to 3 p.m. for girls; basketball skills for boys will be at 4:30 p.m. and the boys will be available to use the weight room at 6 p.m., according to athletic director Wendy King.
Athletes must come dressed, as locker rooms will not be available. Attendees also must bring their own towel. For more information, contact Coach King at wking@milanoisd.net.
