Milano High School’s One-Act Play cast and crew competed at district contest on March 7 at Yoe High School Performing Arts Center in Cameron and were picked to advance from the contest. The company did scenes from “Flowers for Algernon.”

Christopher Strange was named best actor in the contest and Ben King was named to the all-star cast. Malinda Storey and Jaden Carmichael earned spots on the honorable mention all-star cast. The group will compete at bi-district contest back in Cameron on March 25.

AG BOOSTERS—The newly established Milano/Gause Ag Boosters are holding a fundraiser with the prize being a processed pig. Tickets are $5 each or six for $20. Drawing will be held March 30 and winner need not be present to win. Processing cost is included and the winner chooses cuts. Processing of pig will be May 22 at Westphalia MeaT.

VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISER—The eighth annual Knight Scholarship volleyball tournament fundraiser is scheduled for March 23 at Milano High School. Things will get underway at 10 a.m. with registration and team photos at 10:30 a.m. Games begin at 11 a.m.

BROWN BENEFIT—A benefit motorcycle run and auction is being organized for Gause resident and Milano graduate Dendy Brown for March 30 at Nat’s in Milano.

In September 2018, Dendy was critically injured in an auto accident on the job and required multiple surgeries and transfusions as part of his medical treatment. He currently has to travel to Temple three times a week for wound care of his injuries.
