As the Rockdale Fair and Rodeo takes place next week, here are some updates:
Carnival
Wednesday, Oct. 13, and Thursday, Oct. 14, the rides will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. and wristbands are $25.
On Friday, Oct. 15, rides will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. and wristbands will be $30.
Saturday, Oct. 16, rides will be open from 1 to 10 p.m. Tickets only from 1 to 5 p.m. and tickets or wristbands from 5 to 10 p.m. Wristbands are $30.
Tickets
Tickets are $25 for a three-day pass, and $15 for senior citizens and children.
One-day passes are available for $20 for adults and $10 for seniors and children.
Fair tickets are available at Rockdale Federal Credit Union (Rockdale and Thorndale locations), Citizens National Bank, Brookshire Brothers, Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, Rockdale General Store, Whiteley Farm Supply, Rockdale Signs & Photography, Anderle Lumber and The Bling Box Boutique.
Mutton Bustin’
Mutton bustin’ will be held on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15 and 16, for ages 4 though 8 with a weight limit of 55 pounds. There is a $20 entry fee with sign up at the rodeo arena at 6:30 on a first-come, firstserve basis. There will be 30 runs per night.
Music
Musical acts will be featured Thursday through Saturday.
Thursday features A.J. Castillo at 9 p.m.
Friday’s featured acts are Carson Jeffrey at 8:30 p.m., followed by headliner Mike Ryan at 10:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Giovanni and the Hired Guns will start at 9 p.m. and headliner Kolby Cooper starts at 11 p.m.
Food Vendors
This year’s food vendors are Helen’s Sno Balls, First Pentecostal Church of Rockdale, Phi Asian Food Truck, First Christian Youth, Modernistic Social Club, Rockdale Coffee Roasters, G.R.I.T. Fastpitch, The G Wagon, Brett’s Backyard Bar-B-Que, Sno Sister, John Vargas and Circle S BBQ.
They will be selling BBQ, turkey legs, tacos, Asian food, specialty coffees, menudo, enchiladas, Frito pies and breakfast items.
Arts and Crafts Vendors
This Fair will feature the following arts and crafts vendors: Leslie’s Nut House, Jessie’s Place, The Sew and Sew Club, Scentsy, Paparazzi, New Age, U Herd, Shandaliers Boutique, Perfectly Imperfect, Loot At Her, American Legion, M&Z Essentials, Saved By Grace and Boutique Warehouse.
They will be selling items such as woodworking items, tumblers, jewelry, Scentsy, nuts, t-shirts, caps, women’s clothing and accessories, health and wellness products and more.
