Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry has designated handicapped parking and pickup at the mobile food bank distribution center at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
This service is a new addition to help meet the needs of the pantry’s clients, according to food pantry officials.
In addition to its storefront at 224 W. Cameron, which is open 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays through Fridays, the RCS partners with Central Texas Food Pantry out of Austin for free food distribution to Rockdale twice a month.

On the first Thursday of the month from 9-10 a.m. the program Fresh Food for Families brings fruits and vegetables to the KC Hall.
On the third Thursday from 9-11 a.m. general food items, including meat, beans, canned vegetables and fruit, soup, cereal, rice and pasta are delivered.
Participants must bring a box, basket, bags or other container to carry their food and be 18 years of age or older. One box of food per household, according to Patsy Brymer.
