POLICE REPORT
There was another incident in which a counterfeit bill turned up in Rockdale during the past week.
This time it involved a supposed $100 bill but, as in previous incidents, the fake money was clearly stamped as bogus.
“It said right on it ‘For Cinematic Use Only,” Lt. Stephen Goodrich of the Rock-dale Police Department said. “It was movie money.”
The incident represents the fourth time movie money has turned up in Rock-dale, he said.
Chance Earl Lewis, 20, of Rockdale, was charged with forgery by passing.
CHASE—Goodrich said a 29-year-old Rockdale man was arrested early Thursday after a short chase following an initial attempted stop for a traffic violation.
Johnny Morales, 29, of Rockdale, was charged with evading arrest/detention with vehicle and possession of a dangerous drug.
He remained in the county jail at presstime in lieu of $17,000.
ACCIDENTS—No injuries were reported in either of the two traffic accidents investigated by police during the past seven days.
Police said vehicles operated by Robert Swader and Linda Swader of Lindale were in collision at 4:31 p.m. Sunday on the US 77-79 ramp near the eastern Rock-dale city limits.
Police termed the collision “minor.”
Another accident termed minor by police was reported at 4:24 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of FM 908.
Driver was listed as Wendy Praesel of Rockdale.
CITATIONS—Police issued 36 citations during the past week including 19 for speeding, three each for failure to maintain financial responsibility, no driver’s license and public intoxication, two for driving while license invalid and one each for criminal mischief, expired registration, expired license, failure to report change of address/name, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of restriction code.
SERVICE CALLS—Offi - cers responded to 142 calls for services during the past seven days and there were 88 calls received through the 911 emergency system at the police station.
