There was more economic good news for Rockdale during the week.
On Monday, County Judge Steve Young told commissioners the Saratoga Group has purchased two properties in Rockdale, including the 150-lot Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park.
Young said developer Sam Hales picked Rockdale due to its location and favorable economic development.
“They plan to revitalize the parks by removing and replacing the older mobile homes with new modular homes which they plan to sell, rather than rent. Further plans are to pave the roads, place the utilities underground, build a clubhouse, pool. They are trying to fix the place up really nice, which is what we need,” Young said.
