All this cold and wet weather makes it a perfect time to eat chili. It just so happens that Saturday is the annual Milano Volunteer Fire Department chili supper.

The event will start at 4:30 p.m. at the station located on Highway 79. Serving will continue until sold out. Chili, drink and dessert will cost $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12, with children age 3 and under eating for free.

There will also be live music along with live and silent auctions.

The group is also selling tickets for its annual gun fundraiser. Cost is $5 each or five for $20.

Prizes include (and are given as Academy gift cards): two Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, two Taurus Public Defender .45/410, Remington 700, Marlin 336W 30-30, Remington 870 Shotgun, Ruger American Bolt Action 22 LR, Taurus 738 TCP 380 and $100 Academy gift card.

Winners will be drawn at the chili supper. You need not be present to win.

RUMMAGE SALE—

The MVFD Ladies Auxiliary is also starting to gear up for their Spring Rummage Sale in a couple of months. If you have any donations, feel free to contact Thurla Hubert (512-455-3635), Jesse Love (979-255-1540) or Travis Yoakum (512-657-2660).

CHICKEN DINNER—

The Milano Gause Ag Booster Club will hold a chicken plate dinner on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the KC Hall in Rockdale.

Tickets are $10 each and will include chicken half, green beans, noodles, bread, drink and dessert. To-go plates only will be served starting at 11 a.m. Pre-sale tickets available from an Ag Booster Club family.

Plates must be picked up by 12:30 p.m. on day of event.
