The El Camino Real Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists recently hosted a fall program on soil for the Milam County Girl Scouts at Bird and Bee Farm in Rockdale. In attendance were 97 people including 52 Girl Scouts. They heard and participated in a program presented by USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, which included an interactive soil tunnel. The scouts had dinner, tours of the Milam Wildscape Project and got to meet lots of Bird and Bee Farm’s little chicks. Pictured above (L-R) are Bird and Bee Farm owner Gene Rek, and USDA-NRCS representatives Tyler Lawson and Ben McNally.
