—The City of Milano Volunteer Fire Department has acquired this excess military vehicle through the Dept. of Defense Firefighter Property Program plus a $20,000 grant from the Rural Volunteer Firefighter Assistance Program to purchase a new “slip on unit” for the department. The department spent over 500 man-hours converting the truck after a local business painted it a nonmilitary color, as required. The foam unit is a first for Milano. “It will be beneficial in helping us to extinguish a fire faster,” Adam Dodd, member of the department said.
