Mural artist, Sam Welty, has completed his murals around town. About 40 people came to Wolfe Park for a meet and greet with Welty to view Rockdale Earth Day’s signature mural, El Camino Real de los Tejas. Another mural at Veterans Park provides the perfect backdrop for the veteran monuments and benches. Left photo, advanced art students (L-R) Piper Pounders, Christo Hernandez, Nyah Limon and Aubri Smith helped paint the stars and stripes. Other students who helped with the mural are Mariela Collazo, Irma Hernandez-Catalan and Elizabeth Romo. There are three Rockdale Tiger stencils around town. The one at right is at Caffey Corner, and there are two others at Attorneys of Texas Title and Corona’s Mexican Restaurant.
