Rockdale ISD administrators are considering an alternative schedule for the 2022-2023 school year.
The district has realized the need to provide more intensive intervention to those students struggling while also providing opportunities for more enrichment.
This new schedule has students attending school for four and a half days most weeks, with the half day dedicated to specialized instruction and the other half of the day dedicated to teacher preparation.
After meeting with campus leadership and teachers, the district is presenting their ideas to the school board at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 19. That same information will be shared during several upcoming meetings. These meetings will allow parents to help the district plan and to provide input.
The following are opportunities for parents to participate.
• Thursday, Jan. 20— Calendar Committee Meeting
• Monday, Jan. 24— Calendar Survey distributed
• Tuesday, Jan. 25— Parent Webinar
• Wednesday, Jan. 26— Parent Webinar
