Cow-calf clinic set for April 15

The 40th annual Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic will be held April 15 in the Milam County Youth Exposition Building 301 S. Houston St., in Cameron.

There will be programs throughout the day with registration running from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on the day of the clinic.

Cost is $20 and those attending are asked to call the Milam County Extension Office at 254-697-7045 for a meal count by April 13.

Rockdale residents get online college degrees

The following Rockdale residents have earned a degree from Western Governors University.

• Elisabeth Thomason received a bachelor degree in Science Business Administration – Accounting.

• Tiffany Prestridge received a bachelor degree in Arts – Educational Studies.

The online, nonprofit university has graduated over 218,000 students from across the country since its inception in 1997.

RVFD fundraiser tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fund raising night at the KC Hall are now on sale, according to spokesman Mike Korenek.

The fundraiser is set for May 15.

FEMA offers assistance for Texas storm damage

Since the Feb. 19 federal disaster declaration, more than $95.3 million in assistance has been approved for survivors in Texas.

Disaster assistance may include monetary awards to help pay for emergency home repairs for disaster-related damage to a primary residence, uninsured and underinsured personal property losses, and other serious disaster-related expenses.

The quickest way to apply is www.disasterassistance. gov and then selecting “Apply Online.” During the application process, be sure to select the cause of damage as snow/ ice.

When applying for federal assistance, pay attention to question No. 24 about people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs. Answer “yes” to this question if you have a disability, special needs or another health or medical condition.

Yoe Class of ’21 virtual auction begins Monday

Yoe Class of 2021 will hold a virtual auction starting on Monday and ending at 5 p.m. April 5 to help support the Yoe High School Senior Class of 2021.

Auction items can be viewed on the Yoe Class of 2021 Facebook page. Bid winners will be notified for pickup on April 6 at the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department between 6 and 9 p.m.
