Band members participating in region
On Saturday, Dec. 11, several members of the RHS Big Blue Band represented Rockdale at the ATSSB All-Region 18/26 Band Auditions at Smithville High School. The following students qualified for the region bands:
• Clarissa Herrera, 4th Chair Flute, Concert Band.
• Alvan Liu, 2nd Chair Oboe, Symphonic Band ( Area Qualifier) .
• Able Aguirre, 11th Chair Clarinet, Concert Band (Area Qualifier).
• Yovanney Delgadillo, 3rd Chair Bass Clarinet, Symphonic Band (Area Q u a l i fi e r) .
• Beth Montelongo, 2nd Chair Trumpet, Concert Band (Area Qualifier).
• Peyton Shuffield, 7th Chair Trombone, Symphonic Band (Area Qualifier).
The area qualifiers will participate at the all-area auditions at Robinson High School on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022.
On Saturday, Dec. 4, several members of the RJH Symphonic Band represented Rockdale at the ATSSB All-Region 18/26 Band Auditions at Smithville High School. The following students qualified for the region bands:
• Destiny Bluford, 3rd Chair Clarinet, Symphonic Band.
• Jameson Cox, 1st Chair Trumpet, Concert Band.
• Annabelle Henderson, 4th Chair Flute, Symphonic Band.
• Megan Johnson, Alternate Flute.
• Madison McCauley, Alternate Tuba.
• Illiana Roemelin, 12th Chair Flute, Concert Band.
• Marcos Santellano, 13th Chair Trumpet, Concert Band.
These students will participate in the ATSSB All-Region Band Clinic/ Concert on Jan. 14 and 15 at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts in Bastrop.

Rotary Casino Night set for February 5th
The Rotary Club’s Casino Night will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at The Ranch at 6 p.m.. This event will raise money for local scholarships, intermediate school character building curriculum, leadership camp for local teens and Christmas for Senior Citizens to name a few.
The event includes casino-type gaming, football pool, cash prizes and a live auction.
If your company would be interested in participating this year there are two levels of sponsorship. The $300 level as an event spon sor which give your company two tickets ($100 value), company logo on advertisements, a banner with your logo at the front entrance, logo on one of the gaming tables, logo on a large banner above the stage and in newspaper advertising proceeding the event
The $100 level is as a Table Sponsor. Your company’s logo displayed on one of the gaming tables, on a large banner above the stage and in newspaper advertisements previous to the event. Your company will also be introduced during the gaming session s during the evening.
Tickets to the event are $50 and each ticket entitles patrons to two drink tickets, $10 in chips and an entry in a cash drawing. Doors open at 6 p.m. and gaming starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available from any member of the Rockdale Rotary Club.
