Place of Hope fundraiser to be held Friday

The Place of Hope will celebrate their 11th anniversary by having a “Boots and Bling” fundraiser at 6 p.m. Friday at Milam County Cowboy Church.

The meal will be catered by Chris Kelm with desserts by Bake My Day Treats, Modern Thyme Catering and Goodies Baked Treats.

Tickets are $50 in advance, and there will be drawings for a gun, custom boots, hats and jewelry. There is also a door prize drawing and both silent and live auctions.

New pastor installation for Springfield BC

Springfield Missionary Baptist Church will hold an installation ceremony for their new pastor, Ronnie Morgan, and First Lady Carolyn Morgan at First Baptist Church on Green Street at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23.

Special guest speaker will be Rev. K.A. Shawn Dooley, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church in Round Rock.

Salvation Army looking for volunteers

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers who have a heart for helping people, have a calling to a ministry and have an extra 5-7 hours per week.

If you meet those qualifications you will be on the front line representing The Salvation Army as a local intake coordinator helping families in Milam County to receive emergency utility assistance.
