First Saturday farmers market seeks donations
The first Saturday Rockdale Farmers Market on August will have a watermelon eating contest and some fun things planned with water.
The market on that day will also feature a silent auction to benefit Rockdale Elementary school teachers and are seeking donations for the auction which may be dropped off at the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.
‘Meet the Tigers’ on Saturday, August 5th Meet the Tigers will be held on August 5 at Tiger Stadium at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an online cake auction which starts that Saturday and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Come out to meet the players from football, volleyball, cross country, athletic trainers, cheerleaders, Golden Girls and members of the Big Blue Band.
‘Fish’ Camp for RHS freshmen on Aug. 4
A “Fish” Camp for incoming freshman high school students will be held on Friday, August 4 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Rockdale High School.
A $15 registration fee includes Class of 2027 t-shirts, prizes and snacks. Call 512-430-6140.
Whitmire issues burn ban for Milam County
Milam County is under a burn ban which was announced last week by County Judge Bill Whitmire.
All outdoor burning is prohibited and the ban lasts for 90 days.
