Hill Country’s ‘HOP’
facing adjustments
The HOP, a nine-county regional public transportation system that serves Rockdale, Cameron and Milam County is being forced to make changes.
Louise Moreno of the Hill Country Transit District, said over the past few years contract revenues have declined and HOP has had to cut service and lay off some staff in order to reduce costs.
“The HOP has made every effort to make the impact of these changes on riders as minimal as possible but, obviously, some riders will be affected,” she said.
She said the adjustments mean although HOP will continue to serve communities it will be at a reduced level.
