Homecoming ahead

June 9 at civic center

Rockdale’s annual homecoming is for everyone when homecomers gather June 9 at the Patterson Center.

Barbara Gross, Rock-dale Homecoming Association president, said the group wants to emphasize the annual event is not just for graduates of Rockdale High School, but for all current and previous residents of Rockdale.

“Honoree on June 9 will be The Rockdale Reporter with its owners and dedicated staff. The Cooke Family has led this award winning and well respected weekly community newspaper for four generations and has contributed so much to the community,” Gross said.

The event will begin with coffee, donuts and fellowship. The annual business meeting will be held around noon.

This year the officers of the Homecoming Association will prepare and serve the meal of brisket, beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and iced tea for $12 per plate.
