County continues talk on move to old hospital
CAMERON—Milam County Commissioners, meeting in regular session Monday in the courthouse, saw architect Stan Graves present a couple of drawings showing how county offices might fit into the former Little River-Cameron Hospital.
The county is considering moving offices from downtown Cameron into the building vacated when Little River Health Care declared bankruptcy and closed its Milam County facility last year.
Graves presented two different scenarios, one with the Milam Appraisal District (AD) included and one without.
The AD has indicated it is not willing to make the move.
Graves said the hospital is smaller than the area represented by the downtown buildings which they currently occupy “put together.”
Commissioners also discussed a new business venture in Rock-dale and entered into an inter-local agreement with the City of Rockdale concerning a cleanup of a property in that city. See stories on page 6A.
