Suicide follows CPS visit to rural address
BUCKHOLTS—Sheriff Chris White said his office has determined a 55-year-olf Buckholts area resident fatally shot himself during a visit by a Child Protective Services (CPS) investigator Saturday.
White said Oscar Posas was dead at the scene as the result of a single gunshot wound.
“CPS was conducting an investigation into a report of alleged abuse,” he said. “During the investigation deputies interviewed other persons who were present. Based on their statements, the decedent went into an interior room of the residence and shot himself.”
“Deputies did not locate any evidence that would contradict the witness statements,” White said.
An inquest was performed by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Greg Hoelscher.
