City manager still

looking for new job

Rockdale City Manager Chris Whittaker continues to look for a new position.

Whittaker has been searching for a new job, a search which became public in September when his name, as a city manager finalist, was posted on the Kingsville website.

He did not get that job.

However in the interim Whittaker has applied for the city manager position at other municipalities. He was to have interviewed Tuesday evening in Bell-ville and has also reached finalist status in Magnolia.

Whittaker also has an interview for a position with a non-municipal business in San Antonio.

He has not resigned his position in Rockdale and continues to attend city council meetings and fulfill the duties of the city manager’s job.

Whittaker became city manager in December, 2014, almost exactly five years ago.
