RVFD fund raiser tickets now on sale
Tickets for the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fund raising night at the KC Hall will go on sale Monday, according to spokesman Mike Korenek.
The fund raiser is set for April 18.
Tickets will be sold to persons on a year-to-year list.

Fund raiser slated for Milano cancer patient
A benefit is planned March for Milano resident Richard Melton and family as he battles gastric cancer.
Melton is receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the event is being held to help with expenses during his battle to win this fight. Many are ready and willing to help Richard, his wife Jenny, and their seven children.
The event is set for 11 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rockdale.
Barbecue plates, sides and desserts, dine in or to-go will be sold. There’s a T-shirt sale, live auction, washer tournament and 50/50 fundraiser.

AMR to implement pilot program in Milam
American Medical Response (AMR) has been selected to implement the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Emergency Triage, Treat and Transport (ET3) program in Milam County, beginning this year.
ET3 is an innovative, fiveyear program aimed at providing greater flexibility for ambulance care teams to address emergency health care needs of Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) beneficiaries following a 911 call.
Patients are assessed on site with a low acuity clinical protocol and can be treated on-site through telehealth by a Qualified Health Professional or transported to an appropriate non-emergency department alternate destination if appropriate for the patients’ condition.
Chamber banquet ahead on March 19th
The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards banquet is set for 6 p.m. March 19 at the Patterson Civic Center.
Major awards to be presented include the following:
• Citizen of the Year—Service during the year just past.
• Outstanding Citizen—Long time service to the Rockdale community.
• Organization of the Year—Service to the community by an organization during the year.
• Business of the year—Rockdale-area business which has provided outstanding community service.
Lenten Fish Fry again Friday at KC Hall
The annual Lenten Fish Fries by Knights of Columbus Council 7014 continue Friday at the KC Hall and every Friday of Lent.
Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m., or until sold out, and plates are priced at $10 each.
The KC Hall is located east of town on US 79, just east of the US 77 overpass.
