School board okays November election

Meeting in regular session Monday in the juniorhigh commons, the Rockdale ISD School Board okayed the order of election for Nov. 3 school board voting.

That election was postponed from May 2 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

There’s one school board race. Michael Whitsel and Janice Keen are vying to replace Place 6 incumbent Lin Perry.

Perry passed up a chance at re-election to run for a west-ward city council seat being vacated by Doug Calame.

Perry is opposed by Monique Gebhart.

That city election has also been postponed to Nov. 3.

Also on Monday, trustees heard a school-opening report from Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo.
