The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its annual awards, to be presented at the March 19 Chamber banquet.
Deadline is Feb. 7.
Anyone may make nominations.
Major awards include the following:
• Citizen of the Year—Service during the year just past.
• Outstanding Citizen—Long time service to the Rockdale community.
• Organization of the Year—Service to the community by an organization during the year.
• Business of the year—Rockdale-area business which has provided outstanding community service.
There are also awards for Chamber Ambassador of the Year, outstanding service, United Way support and to Rockdale-area students.
Nomination forms are available at the Chamber’s Rock House Headquarters, 1203 West Cameron (US 79).
FIESTA—This year’s banquet will be held at the Patterson Center and that’s a change from recent years when banquets were held at the KC Hall.
It begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers and a cocktail hour. The banquet begins at 7 p.m.
Theme is “Fiesta: A Celebration of Community” and those in attendance are encouraged to “dress the part,” according to Denise Brock, Chamber office manager.
