A motorcycle accident in far northern Milam County on Friday has resulted in the county’s third fatality of 2019, all within a month.
According to the Department of Public Safety the accident occurred at 3:15 p.m. on US 190-Texas 36 one-tenth of a mile from County Road 110 near the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad overpass.
That’s also near the Bell County line.
DPS troopers said a 2008 Honda motorcycle operated bu Karen Frazier, 61, of Porter was westbound entering a left-hand curve.
Troopers theorized the motorcycle driver lost control, ran off the roadway and rolled.
Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.
FATALITIES—Milam County’s other two highway fatalities occurred in February.
On Feb. 16, a Killeen teacher sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Texas 36 south of Milano.
Vanessa Harrison died a day and a half later in a Bryan hospital.
On Feb. 27, a collision between an 18-wheeler and a pickup claimed another life on that same stretch of highway south of Milano.
Louis Smith, 77, of Caldwell was listed as the pickup driver, according to the DPS.
