A chase involving a Rock-dale Police officer resulted in the arrest of a local man last week.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said a “suspicious person” call sent Ofc. Joah McCaleb to a location outside Rockdale Elementary School.

“The suspect fled on foot and a chase led to his apprehension by Ofc McCaleb,” Goodrich said..

Joe Alexander Moraga, 46, of Rockdale, was charged with resisting arrest, search or transport and evading arrest/detention.

As of Tuesday he remained in the Milam County Jail. Bond was denied on the resisting charge and set at $2,000 on the other charge.

OFFENSES—Police began investigations of two criminal mischief incidents during the past week.

Goodrich said one involved “willful” damage to a room in a local motel and one involved damage to a vehicle.

Police said a vehicle was reported missing during the past week and had not been located as of presstime Tuesday.

ACCIDENT—Police said vehicles operated by Robert Lambert and Patricia Jimenez were in collision at 7:26 a.m. Aug. 28 in front of Rockdale Federal Credit Union.

No injuries and moderate damages were reported.

Moderate damage was reported at 11:02 a.m. Aug. 28 when a vehicle struck a post in the parking lot Tractor Supply. Driver was listed as Aileen Doss-Navala of Rockdale.

No injuries reported in a motorcycle accident on the US 77-79 off ramp at 1:06 p.m. Thursday. Operator was listed as William Drees of Boerne.

Minor damages were reported in a hit-and-run accident in the block of Green at 8:36 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a car operated by Carlos Rubin of Rock-dale was in collision with a parked vehicle.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 187 calls during the week and the 911 system reported 187 calls.
