POLICE REPORT
Police went to the assistance of a person suffering from a diabetic episode last Tuesday in a parking lot along Cameron Avenue (US 79) and, as a result, one arrest has been made and one person is being sought on drug charges.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Rebecca Faye Lara-Morales, 27, of Rockdale, was charged with possession of marijuana (less then two ounces) in a drug-free zone, possession of marijuana (less then one ounce) in a drug-free zone. She was released on $23,000 bond.
Goodrich said charges were filed after a search of the vehicle.
He said Lara-Morales was the passenger and a warrant has been issued for the driver.
ARRESTS—Three other felony arrests were made during the past week as follows:
• Caress Nichole Montelongo, 24, Rockdale, burglary of habitation, bond forfeiture-criminal trespass, in custody on $30,000 bond.
• Christopher Jerome Thompson, 40, Rockdale, parole violation (original charge-burglary of habitation, in custody, no bond.
• Thomas Lopez, 24, Rockdale, sex offender’s duty to register for life annually; motion to revoke-assault family/ household member breath/ circulation; motion to proceed-assault cause bodily injury-family member, in custody, no bond on motion to revoke, $20,000 bond on other charges.
INCIDENTS—Police investigated two reports of assault causing bodily injury and assault causing bodily injury during the past week.
Other offenses reported include indecent exposure, possession of dangerous drugs, resisting arrest and theft.
Police served eight local warrants during the past week.
CITATIONS—Police issued 47 speeding tickets during the past seven days.
Other citations issued included three for expired registration, two each for failure to report change of address/name and no liability insurance and one for running a stop sign.
ACCIDENT—Police were called to a pickup-pedestrian accident Tuesday at the Main-Cameron (FM 908-US 79) intersection downtown.

SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 154 calls for service during the past seven days and there were 97 calls received through the 911 emergency system.
NO REPEAT—The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department has been here, the site of All-Service Propane in the 1300 block of East Cameron (US 79) before. On March 3, 2017, firefighters waged a successful five-hour struggle to keep an adjacent house fire from spreading into the propane business. The RVFD returned at 8:33 a.m. Friday when billowing black smoke appeared. It turned out to be just a car fire and firefighters had the blaze under control quickly.
