One person was hurt early Friday morning as part of a series of accidents on ice-slick Brushy Creek drainage bridges on US 79 just east of Thorndale.

According to the DPS, a vehicle drive by John Brooks, 42, of Rockdale flipped over and sustained extensive damage.

Conditions were listed as “icy and below freezing,” causing several vehicles to skid during the pre-dawn hours.

Brooks was taken to Williamson Seton Hospital for treatment.

Troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Thursday on FM 486 near the County Road 446 intersection.

Drivers were listed as Steven Stolte, 56, and Margaret White, 24, both of Thorndale.

Vehicle damage was listed as minor.

Minor damages were listed for a two-vehicle incident at 7:25 a.m. Saturday at the Texas 36 railroad underpass in Milano.

According to the DPS a vehicle operated by Pedro Roque of Houston knocked some debris onto the roadway with its trailer and a trailing vehicle operated by Brian Fischer of Ledbetter sustained undercarriage damage.

Moderate damages were reported in a 10:50 a.m. Monday collision on FM 487 near County Road 303 northwest of Rockdale.

Drivers were listed as Charles McCartney and Terri Sandoval, both of Rockdale.
