If you think the new Rockdale Estates & Rehabilitation nursing home, next to the intermediate school on US 79, looks impressive from the outside—and it does—it’s just as impressive from the inside. Work on the 43,400-square-foot structure and owners are now looking toward a Thanksgiving time frame opening. Co-owner Laurie Kunka said the plush new state-of-the-art facility is already booked full and a waiting list has been created. The 84-bed facility costs $6.5-million. Economic development is much on the minds of Rockdalians at the moment and the nursing home will employ about 100 persons.
