Report missing grave flags to Legion post
Members of American Legion Carlyle Post 358 returned to IOOF and Old Town Cemeteries on May 31 to retrieve American flags that were placed on the graves of local Veterans for Memorial Day.
As any flags noted to be heavily worn, torn, tattered, shredded or stained were collected, it’s possible that similar flags placed by families of Veterans were included.
“If you are missing a small flag that your family placed on a beloved Veteran’s grave, please contact the American Legion at 512-446-2996 so that the post can provide a replacement for you,” said Deborah McKimmey, adjutant.
“Also, if you know of a Veteran’s grave which did not have a flag placed for Memorial Day, please call the number above so that his or her name can be added to our list,” McKimmey added.
