Thorndale Town & Country Club meeting
The Thorndale Town & Country Club met at the Conoley Community home of Betty and Susan Atkins. Eight club members were present. Games of Tenzi were played with winners receiving a fall décor wall plaque and a hand-made crochet hot mat made by Betty Atkins.
A short business meeting followed the recreation where the club sent sympathy cards and get-well cards to members of the community in need of support. Various upcoming events were discussed and ways the club could support the community by participating.
For their demonstration, Betty shared that her grandmother taught her to crochet when she was a young girl. She has shared this talent through the years by crocheting baby blankets, potholders, lap robes, and many other items. Susan shared some of her wood burning decorations she had made over the years.
The Town & Country Club meets once a month and is a service club that supports the community of Thorndale with various activities during the year. If anyone is interested in joining the club and helping with our service projects, you are invited to attend the next meeting. Please call Paula Johnson at 512-898-2863 or Darleen Tucker at 512-29-9089 for more information.
