Members of Crown Garden Club met at the beautiful home of Barbara Nelson for their annual Christmas luncheon and gift exchange. Patricia McKee was co-hostess with Mrs. Nelson.
Club President Jimette Fatheree led a short business meeting which included the club’s donation of $100 each to Child Protective Services and Christmas Roundup.
Geri Burnett has been working on purchase and planting of a new tree to replace one that the club donated in 2016 in memory of longtime club member, Yvonne Yount. The tree did not survive the winter of 2020 and Mrs. Burnett reported that the new tree has been planted and told of specific care needed by the tree for the first year. Club members will take care of the watering and feeding that needs to be done.
After a delicious lunch and fellowship, the group enjoyed a Chinese gif t exchange and delivery of items for the food pantry brought by members. -Peggy Cooke, reporter

Gospel of Life Church’s pastors Santos and Maria Gonzales announce their New Years Eve Experience and Praise Party with evangelist Sonia Bass on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m.

Heavenly Treasures will be closed Dec. 18 through Jan. 2, 2023 for the holidays and re-open for shopping on Tuesday, Jan. 3, for our regular hours of Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Keto support group meets Thursdays at 7
A keto support group meets at the First Baptist Church’s south entrance every Thursday at 7 p.m. A newcomers’ session will start at 6:30 p.m.

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St.
The meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
