Networking lunch set for Thursday

Turkey shoot event begins noon Saturday

American Legion Carlyle Post 358 in Rockdale will host a Turkey Shoot, 11 a.m., Saturday. Competition begins at noon.

The fundraising event includes a prize drawing for a Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun.

Cemetery association to meet Saturday

Murray Cemetery Association annual business meeting will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Perry Community Room, 109 N. Main, Rock-dale.

An appetizer social will follow. Plates, napkins, utensils, cups, ice, and beverages will be provided by the association and members can bring their favorite appetizer to share.

New Girl Scout groups forming

The Girl Scouts organization will hold a recruiting party at Mr. Gatti’s on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. for grades K-12. There will be door prizes, free pizza and drinks, and free membership for those who sign up that evening.

Some of this years activities include going to college games, participating in STEM activities, Christmas Around the World, pumpkin picking at Sweet Berry Farm, camping, Wonders of Nature gardens and more.

Mini Rah Rah Camp

signups underway

The Rockdale Varsity Cheerleaders will host Mini Rah Rah Camp on Nov. 5 from 4-7 p.m. at Rockdale High School.

Girls from pre-kindergarten through fifth grades are welcome to attend. Pre-k students must be at least four years old.

Registration is available online through My School Bucks or paper forms were sent home through the elementary and intermediate schools.

MHS fundraiser for

seniors next Friday

MILANO–The Milano Alumni & Exes group is holding their “Fantastic Fajita Fundraiser” on Friday, Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. before the football game in the Milano Elementary Cafeteria at the north end of the football field.

Fajita dinners with all the trimmings, tea and dessert can be purchased for $10. All proceeds go to fund scholarships for graduating seniors.
