Master Naturalists set training class

El Camino Real Master naturalists will host training beginning Jan. 16 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hermit Haus in Cameron on Thursday evenings.

The class is a joint effort of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program.

“The purpose of the program is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers who provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within local communities,” according to Kathy Lester, training coordinator for El Camino Real Master Naturalists.

Classes will include Grasslands and Range Management, Mammals of Texas, Ornithology, Plants and Grasses, and many others.
