Alcoa Retirees meet March 12th

The first meeting of the Rockdale Alcoa retirees will be on Thursday, March 12 at 5 p.m. at The Thorndale Memorial Veterans Hall (former VFW Hall).

There will be a short meeting to elect officers at 5:45 p.m. followed by dinner.

Fried catfish with all the trimmings will be offered. Last names A-L are asked to bring dessert.

Annual dues of $10 will be collected and the dinner is $10 per person.

Richard Melton Cancer Benefit

The Richard Melton Cancer Benefit will be held Sunday, March 22, at the KC Hall starting at 11 a.m.

The benefit will include a BBQ dinner with all the trimmings, a washer tournament, a live auction and a 5o/5o game of chance.

Texas Tornadoes set fund-raiser

“The Texas Tornadoes of Lee County” are raising funds to build The Blue Branch arena in Blue.

“As this facility progresses, our goal is to create a facility that is available to the surrounding communities for rodeos, ropings and other equine related events as well as a meeting room and grounds available for lease for public and private events, “according to Brooke Miller of the Equestrian Drill Team.

They will host a fundraiser which includes 15 heifers and four guns, totaling seven prizes awarded.

Apache Pass washer tourneys

Sunday washer tournaments will be held at Apache Pass Ice House starting at 5 p.m.

The schedule will be “Bring a Partner” on the second Sunday, and “Draw a Partner” on the fourth Sunday.

Registration starts at 4:3o p.m. Entry fee is $20 per team, double elimination. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.

MCT Youth Theater sets play

CAMERON—Milam Community Theater Youth Theater will stage two weekends of “Aladdin Jr.” in April in the Williams Civic Center.

The musical is based on the 1994 Disney movie and the 2014 Broadway play of the same name.

The production will feature two differet casts. Schedule is as follows:
