Milano Ex-Students set beef stew supper Friday
MILANO— A beef stew supper sponsored by Milano Alumni/Exes Association is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Milano Elementary Cafeteria located at the north end of the football field.
Menu is beef stew, cornbread, tea/coffee and dessert. Prices: Ages 3 to 11, $4; ages 12 and up, $7.
Nov. 9 is Senior Night. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help fund scholarships for graduating Milano High School seniors in the Class of 2019.

Linwood Acres Garden Club plans garage sale
The Linwood Acres Garden Club will host a garage sale Saturday at 1908 Murray.
The sale begins at 9 a.m.
Money raised will go for scholarships and city beautification.

St. Joseph’s group plans annual bazaar Dec. 1st
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Christmas bazaar will be held Dec. 1.
The group will have a silent auction, arts and crafts, chili, stew, and bake goods and fund-raiser.
Fund-raiser tickets can be purchased from any lady of the society or at The Rockdale Reporter.
The Society said any donations of bake goods, silent auction items or arts and crafts will be greatly appreciated.”

Master Gardeners set 2019 class schedule
Little River Basin Master Gardener Association (LRBMGA) is opening registration for the 2019 Master Gardener class.
Classes will meet on Wednesdays from Jan. 9 through May 15, from 8:45 a.m. to 12-noon at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce meeting room.
The program offers a minimum of 50 hours of instruction, including field trips. Fee for the class is $175, which includes The Master Gardener Handbook and other amenities.
Speakers are experts in their fields including lawn care, trees and shrubs, disease and weed management, soils, plant nutrition, vegetable and herb gardening, home fruit production, water conservation, and Earth-Kind.
In exchange for training and to become a certified Master Gardener, 50 volunteer hours are required before the end of the calendar year.

Kinship Holiday Food Drive to assist CPS
Kinship’ Care, a child information gateway service, is holding its annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit Child Protective Services (CPS) efforts in the Milam and Central Texas area.
To assist more than 200 caregivers with which Kinship works, the organization needs the following items to fill its holiday baskets:
Canned items—Green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, sweet potatoes/yams, pie fillings, mashed potatoes, instant stuffing, cream of mushroom soup.
Others—Gravy packets, bags of flour, sugar and brown sugar, cornbread mix, French onions, cake mixes and frosting, brownie mixes, Jello mix, marshmallows.
Or any other non perishable items.
Milam County’s donation box is located in the break room of the Child Protective Services office at 605 West Fourth, Cameron.
Historical Society chili dinner slated Saturday
The Rockdale Historical Society’s annual chili dinner is set for Saturday, at the New Salem Clubhouse in Fair Park
Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until sold out.
Desserts will be available and there will be a silent auction during the meal.
Money raised will go toward the restored I&GN Historical Depot in downtown Rockdale.
Free Thanksgiving meal Saturday at Thorndale
THORNDALE—A free Community Thanksgiving Meal will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Thorn-dale Fireman’s Hall.
