KC Council selling BBQ chicken Saturday
The Rockdale Knights of Columbus Council 7014 is holding a barbecue chicken “plates to go” fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 15, in the KC Hall parking lot for drive through pick up.
Starting time is 11 a.m. until sold out. Plates will be $10 and include half a barbecue chicken, pinto beans, potatoes and dessert.
At 10 a.m. the same day the 2020 Mayfest drawing will be held.
Master Gardeners offer online training
The Little River Basin Master Gardeners of Milam County are participating in a pilot Master Gardener Online Training Program offered by the Texas Master Gardener Association and Texas A&M AgriLife.
“This is great news because it allows us to offer this opportunity to residents who are interested in becoming Master Gardeners,” according to Reba Fischer, class coordinator and a Master Gardener.
Online classes will begin Sept. 3. Cost is $100 for training handbook and miscellaneous fees.
Deadline is Aug. 20.
