Tanglewood VFD to host fish fry Saturday
The Tanglewood VFD will host a drive through fish fry fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Plates are $10 for adults and $5 for children and will include fish, French fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, green beans and a dessert.
HB 1359 meeting at country club Saturday
There will be a meeting of the Texas Nationalist Movement at Rockdale Country Club at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The event speaker will be Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement, and he will discuss HB 1359, “Right to vote on Texas Secession.”
Linwood scholarship applications due April 15
The deadline for application for the Linwood Acres Garden Club scholarship is April 15.
This is open to graduating seniors from Rockdale, Milano and Thorndale who will be majoring in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.
High school guidance counselors have the applications.
Farmer’s Market set to return on April 4th
The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce announces the return of their Farmer’s Market on the grounds of the Chamber Office at the historic Coffield Stone Tree House at 1203 W Cameron.
The outdoor market is very popular with the community and the high-exposure location on US 79/Cameron Ave. is beneficial to vendors.
The Chamber is coordinating a special promotion for the 4/3 Launch. Working in cooperation with retail partners, the Chamber will be promoting a “Shop & Hop” to promote local businesses.
Attendees will obtain their “Bunny Trail Cards” at the Farmer’s Market, earning their first ticket. At each location they visit, they will receive another ticket. Each ticket is a chance to win a gift certificate from a participating retailer or member restaurant.
