Gause VFD fundraiser scheduled April 10

The Gause Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual barbecue fundraiser on April 10 starting at 11 a.m. at the Gause VFD building at 110 E. Gause Blvd.

Plates are $12 and will include brisket, sausage, beans, potato salad and dessert with all the fixings.

AA meets at Crossroads Bible Church weekly

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson Street.

The meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

Linwood scholarship applications due April 15

The deadline for application for the Linwood Acres Garden Club scholarship is April 15.

This is open to graduating seniors from Rockdale, Milano and Thorndale who will be majoring in horticulture, agriculture, or a relate d fi e l d .

High school guidance counselors have the applications.

Farmer’s Market set to return on April 4th

Rockdale Chamber of Commerce announced the return of their Farmer’s Market on the grounds of the Chamber Office at the historic Coffield Stone Tree House at 1203 W. Cameron.

The outdoor market is popular with the community and the high-exposure location on US 79/Cameron Ave. is beneficial to vendors.

The Chamber is coordinating a special promotion for the 4/3 Launch. Working in cooperation with retail partners, the Chamber will be promoting a “Shop & Hop” to promote local businesses.

Rockdale Earth Day starts Yard of the Month

Rockdale Earth Day is looking for yards in our community to consider for “Yard of the Month.” The program will be implemented for the next six months, April to September.

Yards must be within the city limits, and nominations are due by the 23rd of the preceding month. Send your nominations to: rockdale earthday@yahoo. com.
