‘Steel Magnolias’ set to open May 8
Milam Community Theater is gearing up for its opening night of Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias, under the direction of Mona Butala, with its “Night on the Town” dinner theater on May 8 at the Williams Event Center, 408 S. Columbus Ave. in Cameron.
While there will be performances at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8 and May 15, and again at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9 and 16, the May 8 evening is unique. It is by reservation only and there is limited seating.
The evening will start with a wine and cheese reception at 6 p.m., followed by a meal at 6:20 p.m. and the play at 7.

Other than the May 8 “Night on the Town” reservations, tickets may be purchased at milamcommunitytheater.com. They will also take cash and credit cards at the door.

A joint reunion is being planned for RHS Classes 1970 and 1971 at The Historic Kay Theatre on Saturday, June 12.

Rockdale Juneteenth scheduled for June 19
Rockdale’s Juneteenth celebration will be held on June 19. The parade will start at 4 p.m. on Burleson Street beside the old city hall.
Festivities will be held at Moultry Park with vendors, music and family fun.

Association is planning their 87th annual City of Rockdale Homecoming for June 13 at the Patterson Center.

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St.
The meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
Heavenly Treasures shifts their open days
Heavenly Treasures is now open four days a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.
