MVFD holds fundraiser for Whitmore Nov. 7th

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department will hold a benefit for Second Assistant Chief Robert Whitmore on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 11:30 a.m.

All proceeds will go towards his medical expenses and treatments.

Rice Cemetery Assn. meeting Saturday

The Rice Cemetery Foundation will hold it’s 46th annual meeting and potluck on November 6 at 11 a.m. in the Rice Cemetery Pavilion.

Rockdale Peace Seekers AA meetings are at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St.

Sky Ranch scholarship contest deadline Nov. 15

Sue Grove and her family are again giving children an opportunity to go to Camp Sky Ranch, a non-denominational church camp, located in Van, TX.

Thirty scholarships worth $1,400 are available to children ages six to 16 who write an essay to enter the contest. This year’s theme is about faith. The children are asked to describe the role faith has in their lives.

The camp will last seven days at the end of May.

Rockdale Ministerial Alliance to hold service

The Rockdale Ministerial Alliance will hold a Thanksgiving service on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the First Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

Pastor Royal Johnson will deliver the message and afterward a light meal will be served.

Heavenly Treasures has a new special for November. On Nov. 2, 16 and 30 they will have bags for $5.
