Wesley G. Payne of Thorndale has filed with the Republican Party as candidate for the office of Milam County Precinct 4 Commissioner.
Payne is a lifelong resident of Milam County and he graduated from Rockdale High School as an honor graduate. He was an active member of the FFA where he participated in livestock shows and judging events. His FFA activities have carried over to his current business of raising cattle.
He attended TSTC in Waco with a major in diesel mechanics. Payne is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and is a strong supporter of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the local FFA and 4-H youth.
Along with his cattle business, Payne has also been employed by Milam County Precinct 3 as an equipment operator and mechanic since 2017. This employment has given him an in-depth knowledge of road and bridge work. “This knowledge and experience in construction, maintenance and improvement of county roads and bridges is vital to the office of county commissioner,” said Payne. He says he is familiar with and understands what is needed to maintain and improve the roads for the people of this precinct.
Payne says, “As the county continues to grow, Milam County Precinct 4 needs a strong leader with the knowledge and the understanding needed to handle the job duties. I will work for all the people of Precinct 4 and I am asking for your support and vote in the upcoming election.”
