A search of a suspect being brought into the Rockdale Police Department on a traffic stop Thursday resulted in numerous drug possession charges being filed against a Taylor man, according to Lt. Stephen Goodrich.

Goodrich said Robert Lee Reyna, 38, had been brought in on a driving with license invalid charge.

“He had asked to use the restroom but our officers decided to do a thorough search first,” Goodrich said.

“They found a bandanna tied to an upper thigh. It contained meth, ecstasy and quite a bit more,” he said.

Reyna was charged with four counts possession of a controlled substance, two for less than one gram, one each for 1 to 4 grams, one for 3 to 28 grams; possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces); prohibited substance/item in a correctional/civic/community facility; two counts, possession of dangerous drug.

He remains in custody on $37,500 bond.

MURDER—Police arrested a Rockdale woman on a charge of murdering her daughter last week.

ACCIDENTS—Police were called to a traffic accident at 12:40 p.m. May 13 for what was termed a minor accident.

Drivers were listed as Niels Beery of Rockdale and Tashena Butler of Cameron.

No injuries were reported and damage reports were not available.

Minor damages and no injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at 9:58 p.m. Friday on West Cameron Avenue (US 79) in front of CEFCO Convenience Store.

Drivers were listed as Juan Zapata and Stacie Winkler, both of Rockdale.

CITATIONS—Pol ic e issued 46 citations during the past week, including 42 for speeding.

Others included 7 for driving while license invalid, three for failure to maintain financial responsibility-second offense, two each for expired driver’s license and failure to maintain financial responsibility-first offense, and one each for animal at large, expired registration, failure to yield right of way-private property, failure to yield-turning left, failure to yield at intersection, no driver’s license, no rabies vaccination, running a stop sign and violation of driver’s license restriction code.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 182 calls for service during the past week and there were 63 calls received through the 911 emergency service.
