Peace Lutheran Church is excited to welcome their new pastor, the Rev. Patrick Welton and his wife, Amy Jeanne, to Rockdale. They will come to us from the Texas Hill Country. He and his wife have two grown children. He looks forward to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in Rockdale and becoming a part of the community.
Pastor Pat r ick was raised in White Oak. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M, a Master of Arts in mathematics from the University of Texas, and most recently, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Christ’s School of Theology of the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT). He was ordained in Blanco. Pastor Patrick is currently an adjunct instructor of mathematics at ILT, where he also is pursuing a Master of Sacred Theology.
While Pastor Patrick has had a passion for God's people most of his life, he comes to the ordained ministry late in life. Prior to serving as a pastor, he was a research scientist, a home educator, and a volunteer for many ministries.
Pastor Patrick will begin serving Peace Lutheran on May 21. On Sunday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m., he will be installed by the Rev. Ralph Reitmeyer. The public is invited to both events at Peace Lutheran Church, 303 Meadow Drive.
