Rockdale Police said a 76-year-old pedestrian was not seriously injured in an accident Monday afternoon in the Walmart parking lot.

Police identified the pedestrian as Frank Montelongo of Rockdale.

According to police, the vehicle involved was an SUV operated by Joyce Dickson of Rockdale.

Montelongo refused treatment by an American Medical Response crew at the scene.

THEFT—Police arrested a 70-year-old Rockdale man Friday on two Milam County warrants.

Lois Ray Mitchell was arrested on a charge of theft ($2,500 to $30,000).

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said that charge was in connection with the theft of copper materials from abandoned houses.

Mitchell was also charged on a warrant alleging criminal mischief ($750 to $30,000) and was released after posting $1,500 bond.

OFFENSES—Police are investigating an incident in which it was reported persons were living in a building without permission.

Goodrich said police found “squatters” had rewired utilities at the location.

Misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief-impair/ interrupting public service were filed.

Other offenses investigated by police during the past week included credit card-debit card abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with license invalid and no driver’s license.

CITATIONS—Police issued 28 citations over the past week.

They included 18 for speeding, four for expired registration and one each for failure to yield at intersection, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, disregarding no passing zone, no insurance, running a red light and no driver’s license.

WARRANTS—Police issued three warrants during the week.

They were a Brazos County warrant for non-payment of child support, a Milam County warrant for criminal mischief ($750 yo $2,500) and a Rockdale Police Department for theft (under $100).

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 135 calls for service during the past week and there were 78 calls received through the 911 service at the Rockdale Police Station.
