POLICE REPORT
Rockdale police investigated a credit card abuse case filed by the Rockdale VFD, and a Rockdale man turned himself in a few days later.
Rajiha Shunquay Mitchell, 25, of Rockdale, who is a volunteer fire fighter, was arrested and charged with credit card abuse last Friday.
“He was using a city gas card for his personal use,” said Lt. Stephen Goodrich. “He was very cooperative. He turned himself in, confessed and admitted to using the card to get gas to get to and from work.”
According to police RVFD Chief Ward Roddam was going over the monthly statements and noticed a higher than normal bill.
It was an easy case, according to Goodrich because police had all the statements and went to each location, viewed video footage of the suspect pumping gas into his car.
BURGLARY–Police recovered a stolen car outside the city limits Saturday that was listed as an unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
“The motor vehicle was sitting outside a mechanics shop before it opened. The owner had left it there to be worked on,” Goodrich said. “He didn’t get very far because the car had blown a head gasket and the vehicle broke down outside the city limits on US 77 toward Lexington.”
Police recovered the vehicle two hours after the 7:23 a.m. report of the missing vehicle.
CITATIONS–Police issued 57 citations during the past week, 41 for speeding, five for display of expired registration, two for driving with license invalid, two for failure to maintain financial responsibility (FMFR), two for second count of FMFR, two for possession of drug paraphenalia, one each for failure to report change of address, no drivers license and running a red light.
SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 131 calls for service during the seven-day reporting period and there were 80 calls to the 911 emergency exchange at the Rockdale Police Department.
